The bolagae replaced the tubular balgae. It has evolved a new system to spread their spores better. In the middle of the onion shaped "trunk" a thin tube grows. Some of the oxygen that is produced in the photosynthesis mechanism is stored in this tube, creating a pressure. This pressure is however not enough to burst the stretchable tube. However, in a small "bud" on top of the tube, containing seeds, is opened on the top. The pressure is then unleashed, shooting away the seeds far enough to make the bolagae spread fast. Other then this the bolagae works like the tubular balgae.
