The bone chlorocytus replaced its ancestor. Its flagella have fused into one muscled appendage. It can now move much faster and has no trouble swimming upstream. Its eye-spot has become slightly more effective in guiding it towards the sunlight. Its lifespan has become somewhat longer. Due to a mutation in its genes, it now reproduces through ternary fission. This means that it splits into three identical cells instead of two.
