The bullying fernt split from its ancestor. In the Flisch-Krakow Rainforest, the two large photosynthesizers were the lightning tree and the tower fernplent. The fernplent could not compete with the size of the lightning tree so the only competition was within its own species. Some of the fernplents evolved a large top layer of leaves: this aided them because not only could they collect more light but they also shaded out other fernplents. They also evolved a larger body for processing more food; this also pushes the towering fernplent out of the way, thus giving it its name. The bullying fernt was so successful it moved into the Flisch Temperate Forest where it quickly became the dominant plent as there were no competitors.
