Ancestor:Descendants:

The carnofern split from violetgrass. Due to the plague of stickyballs, it has adapted a digestive system on the underside of its leaves. Tiny sticky fibers digest down the stickyballs and it is absorbed into the plant. Sometimes other small creatures get stuck to it and will be absorbed too, but it is very rare due to the plant's small size. It also has a single flower on the top, which will release airborne spores and then, once mature, will grow a cluster of seed-filled berries which are eaten and spread by the local wildlife. It also has developed a thick trunk which it can stay dormant in during the cold southern winters.
