Ancestor:Descendants:

The cave night glider has split off from the desert night glider. One population has moved into the Rabid Sandstone Cave. It is dark inside the cave, but the anterior pair of eyes grew much larger. The two other pairs fused together to form an eye that senses infrared. This evolved because the many dark spots along the night glider's back became hot biolights. These appear most vividly in infrared vision. The biolights can be used for communication, and can also be used for mating rituals.

Cave night gliders feed exclusively on plent blood. They have shrunken to 12 centimeters for the ability to drink from cave nizzards and other small plents.
