Ancestor:Descendants:

The cave pear evolved when desert notooths defecated in the Rabid Sandstone Cave for many years. Some bubble pear spores survived where there was sunlight in the cave. This attracted more desert notooths. They favored the more vividly-colored fruits, and thus gave birth to a new species, the cave pear.

The spores are packed into the hollow fruits in the form of a sweet, powdery substance. Not all of the spores will make it through digestion though.
