The centiworm split off from its ancestor the flat centifin. It has taken its first steps onto land and digs through the sand on the eastern beaches of Wright. Its chemoreceptive "horn" has gotten smaller for better digging and its 3 other jaws are used to dig through the sand and grasp food particles. Like its ancestor the many fins have moved to the underside as the centiworm moves through the sand. It cannot dig too deep and is limited to the soft moist sands. It breathes between its segments and must be in moist sand otherwise its micro-lungs will dry out and suffocate the creature. It has any more segments so it can bend better in the sand. It only eats the waste of other creatures and helps clean up the beaches. It must go into the surf to lay its egg-like spores. They do this once a year where each of the 3 sexes expels its part of the reproduction process. They require 1 egg-like spore, 1 sperm and 1 hormone cell. Without the hormone cell from the 3rd sex bonding to the egg-like spore, it will not allow the sperm to enter the egg-like spore.
