Splitting from its ancestor, the crustacolonius has formed colonial units that cover the beaches of Mason. Creating massive mazes that can be half a dozen meters high and be nearly as tough as rock. They grow slowly, taking hundreds of years to reach just a meter in height, all awhile new layers form on top of their ancestors, absorbing silicon and other various minerals in order to strengthen its "skeleton". Some groups have formed thick interlocking biological tide pools, providing homes for numerous microorganisms, and potential ones for future macro species.
