Ancestor:Descendants:

The crystal scuttlescrab split from the fuzzy scuttlecrab. They migrated to the north and ate the crystal rootgrass on Yokto Beach. From there they spread inland. Their spiky purple exoskeleton has mutated into a green crystal-like spikes in order to mimic the crystal rootgrass. This not only helped camouflages them but work as spiky protection. Their strong mandibles can bite off the outer crystal layer of the crystal rootgrass. Like their ancestor their front claws are used for walking now but can be lifted up to help cut the crystal rootgrass too.
