When becoming accustomed itself with the cold waters that covered its trunk and roots, the Airoot Teflonpalm developed a denser structure. The cell wall of its cells now is well thicker and these cells produce a kind of cryoprotector, hindering that the plant suffers with changes in the temperature of waters, mainly when these become more cold. Its leaves become long and had been directed still more for the sky. An important change in its structure was the sprouting of small umbrellas in its trunk, made use alternatingly between the unchanged segments. These umbrellas are very important to hinder the approach of worms that scale its trunk in the surface or underwater. When starting to scale the trunk the worms soon find diverse obstacles, which must skirt in case that they exceed one of the umbrellas soon find one another one, making with that even though the worms most persistent give up due to the fatigue that will go to all have when completing the ascent passage.
