As the successful cave stalkers began to fill the Rabid Sandstone Caves, some of the less successful ones were forced to live in the open, outside the caves or die from starvation due to lack of food. There they began to feed on the blood and flesh of the nogbarrel. They have grown to twice their ancestor's size to aid them in hunting and their skin is tinted purple in order to blend more easily with the flora. As the darwin sneaker 's young are very vulnerable, they are carried in their mother's pouch for the first months of their life, as they grow older they will be fed coagulated clumps of regurgitated plent blood, when they get bigger they are brought half-dead prey to practice their killing bites on. When they are finally forced to live on their own by their mother, they will move to a different part of the forest, rarely coming in contact with anyone else other than their breeding mate.
