The deep trapinfilter split from its ancestor, the armored trapinfilter. It has migrated down into the depths. It now live at the bottom of the sea floor filtering the waters for organic material thats snows down from above. Due to the heavy pressures it is more stout than its ancestor. Its root-like tentacles dig into the ground and keep in anchored. It can pull in its filtering tentacles if a predator comes by. Once full the filtering tentacles will retract into the shell to be licked off. It can also dig straight down into the sand if a larger predator come. Every summer they will spawn huge clouds of spore into the dark waters. This causes a feeding frenzy for about a week. They do this to maximize the number of offspring that will survive.
