The elegant nailfin split from its ancestor, the majestic nailfin. The membrane on their nostrils has improved, allowing them to spend hours near the sea bed searching for food. They are smaller and more streamlined allowing them to dart quickly after whorls. Like its ancestors, the pod has strong social bonding. They enjoy playing and tickling each other with their "nail-fins", though they have become nubby so as not to kill each other. They also use them to uproot the transparent enoms from the seabed. This strengthens social bonds within the pod.
