The emulsecho replaced its ancestor, the chutslonaga. Since their bioluminescence attracted predators and ruined their night vision in the dark any time they blinked they eventually lost that adaption. Without light they eventually went blind and lost all of their pigment. They are a greenish due to their green blood. However they have lost all photosynthesis also due to a lack of sunlight.
Their wings got bigger and are used like earlobes to funnel sound to their tympanic membranes. Their acute hearing helps them avoid predators and find mates. Their long sticky tongues not only are used to lick up limestone balls but are also used to taste the air. This can help them find food or avoid predators in the dark. The bottoms of their feet have become much like a gecko's foot and allow them to climb up walls with ease. This helps them escape predators and reach food high up.
Like their ancestor they give birth to live young. However they seek a high wall that is far out of reach from predators. The offspring are then "spit" upon the backs of their mate so they don't fall. The offspring must hang on to their parents' backs until they are strong big enough to crawl on the walls on their own. The parents mate for life and both take care of their 2 to 3 offspring. When one is holding the babies the other is looking for food and then will bring back the food for them to eat by vomiting it up for them. After a few months they reach adulthood and leave their parents to find a mate.
