Ancestor:Descendants:

The featherbelly foi replaced its ancestor in the lighter zones of the Jujubee ocean. They improved their way of feeding by creating a bigger digestive surface; several feathered appendages grow on their underside. They are sticky and filter out microorganisms and other nutritious particles out of the water. Featherbelly fois can digest the particles directly on their appendage surface, a trait they share with the king foi, although they developed this ability convergently. Another newly developed trait are two collagenous strings running along their "fins" that stabilize their body. The more complex body plan compared to their ancestors led to a reproduction by spores, which are emitted into the open water.
