The '''flashstring''' replaced their ancestors. They are the result of the water table strain of the [[flashline]]s being separated from the rest of the population. The flashstrings are ten times larger than their ancestors. They are found on rocks or growing on dead organisms. After millions of year without sunlight they have lost the ability to photosynthesize, but can now compensate by decomposing dead fauna and feeding off blood. They wait for organisms to swim by, then by either inhaling or touching the cells, which will grow in their bloodstream and kill them, providing potentially thousands of organisms with a carcass. Their glow slightly to attract sighted organism, but are so dim only well tuned eyes can detect them. They live mainly in the water table, but can be found growing in carcasses in caves connected to it. |

The flashstring replaced their ancestors. They are the result of the water table strain of the flashlines being separated from the rest of the population.
