Splitting from its ancestor and moving out of the Scifi Polar Shallows, the fused-shell roj has increased in size in order to feed on larger prey, specifically the gillrom, and has fused together its two shells to provide more support, stability, and protection. Moving in even larger swarms then its ancestor, a group of fused-shell roj will surround an ‘island’ of island colonialballs and then close in from all angles, using their ability to sense even tiny electrical charges to hone in on the gillroms and avoid larger creatures. Though many gillroms are caught, some are able to hide where the fused-shell roj cannot reach, and thus both species are able to survive.
