Ancestor:Descendants:

Having split from its ancestor, the golden demonshroom has flourished in the grasslands and scrublands of Darwin. Forming thick "mini-forests", it provides both food and shelter for numerous species. They help to recycle nutrients back into the soil, and because of them floral life native to the same regions where they are found have both flourished and grown larger. Their flesh has lost its toxic potency but has instead become highly "regenerative", allowing the organism to effectively regrow lost parts within days or weeks, depending on the amount of damage done to it. Their fruits are highly nutritive and promote strong growth in species that eat them, at a cost that the spores develop while inside a host and steal some of its own nutrients before being passed out. The spores rapidly mature into adults within 2–3 weeks and become sexually mature within 5 weeks.
