Ancestor:Descendants:

The Golden Sauceback, so named for the bright color of its carapace, is the descendent of the Running Beastworm. It sense of smell is now much stronger, and it uses smell to find prey and mates from a long range. For locating things closer up, the ear as become much more useful. Its ears are now actually hearing sounds, rather than just feeling the vibrations in the air. Its balance has also improved, allowing it to remain with its tail of the ground indefinitely. Some of the microlungs have increased to a visible size, allowing much more air to be taken in while on the move. Internally, the digestive system has formed in the center, around the backbone type part of the endoskeleton. A primitive brain has started forming under the main carapace, though it is little more than a larger collection of nerve cells. The shells on its feet have formed into four-spiked hooves.
