Ancestor:Descendants:

The helmet capiri split from its ancestor and grew to two meters long. Its crest thickened and shortened and is now used for bashing rivals and predators. The neck has shortened and is set up to act as a shock absorber when running into things, so it doesn't paralyze itself with a broken neck. To counterbalance its heavy crest the helmet capiri has a tail as long as its own body. The back spines point behind it for extra counterbalance and defending from behind, they are slightly mobile.

Males have a small harem, numbering between one and five, that they jealously defend against rivals. They are not territorial, but stay in their own tight group and rarely mingle with other groups. Adult males without their own harem will either seek out lone females, or steal females from an older male who has too many to keep track.
