The irinyer split from its ancestor, the fruit phlyer, and moved to the Irinya River and Irinya Swamp, following the arrival of the irinya carnofern to those habitats. it has shorter wingspan, though its body still retain its size. It eats the irinya carnofern's berries and sleeps mostly on the river's bed, next to it.
The irinyer is less capable of flight than its ancestors, so when predators arrive, rather than fly, it will jump and toot with its butt nostril to appear menacing and dangerous. Each individual has different patterns of green and purple on their body, making distinguishing between them and their environment very hard to do.
Their nests are now made from irinya carnofern parts and fibres. They still reproduce sexually, and give birth to 2-3 babies at a time.
