The iriyoose replaced its ancestor in the Irinya waterways. With the lack of tuff flora, it has taken up the whirlybulb as its primary food sourse. Its beak has changed to better pick at the leaves of the whirlybulb, as well as other stouter flora. It is a bit more terrestrial than its ancestor, though it moves better in water than on land.
A random mutation has resurrected the head crest which belonged to its ancient ancestor, the Grassprint. This crest has the added benefit of dissipating heat, which is a welcomed addition to this desert-dwelling species. The color pattern on the males has also changed, having pigments more similar to its Grassprint ancestors. Other than these changes, it is the same as its ancestor.
