The jeluki frabuki replaced ancestor the frabuki. They have adapted to life in the river. They spend their adolescent lives in the salt marsh and the coast, feeding and maturing, until they reach breeding age. They then migrate upstream to the top of the mountain where they lay their eggs. They accomplish this by using their grasping limbs, adapted for spikes, allowing they to defy the strong downward current. Being blind and deaf, they rely on translucent hairs that grow off of their segments to warn them of predators. These hairs don't work as well in the fast moving waters of the river, so many are eaten.
