The kack tower replaced its ancestor, the Turridea in Jaydoh Desert. While it has not changed size there have been major changes. First of which is its new protection method. Its ribbed waxy outside now has many sharp needles to keep herbivores from feeding on them. On the top it produces a huge cluster of airborne pollen that will release in the spring at nigh during the full moon. It now has 2 sexes and produces hard nuts that are even more resistance than its ancestors spores. They can sit dormant for months until the rains come and then they can sprout.
Like its ancestor its trunk can hold a ton of water during the rainy season and then will survive off that during the extremely dry summers. They are so efferent that they cave even survive droughts. Its trunk's ribbed channels can funnel down dew to its roots to absorb. Plus the waxy coating prevents water loss.
