The krugg slayer split from its ancestor and has migrated to the streams that pocket Drake Temperate Rainforest. It has grown slightly smaller to allow it to maneuver between the dense foliage. They have developed powerful lungfish-like fins that allow them to propel themselves across land. A wooden "rib cage" helps support their body when they chase down prey. They have also developed thicker skin to keep water in. This combined with the humid conditions of the rain forest allows them to stay out of water for up to five minutes!
They are primarily ambush predators. Their bone crushing jaws can make quick work of a krugg's armor. Although they have become quite successful in their new amphibious life style, their young need a large body of water to develop. So every spring they migrate back to the Yokto River to breed. This does put them in competition with their ancestors, but since they only stay there for a couple months and tend to scavenge more often than their ancestors they have not replaced them. When two adults of opposite sexes meet, they will enter a mating ritual in which they bite and electrify each other. The electricity stimulates them and thus prepares them for the actual mating. A few months after the female is fertilized, she will give live birth to young out of her "mouth womb". The young will stay with their mother until they are mature. Because the young are usually are not strong enough to kill their own prey, the father will instead bring dead prey to the family to eat together. When the young do reach maturity, they will leave their parents and proceed to live a life of their own. The mother and father will stay together for life.
