A mutation in one of the groups of thornleffos in Sagan 4 made these modify the position their leaves from the vertical orientation to the horizontal orientation. In this way, these plents started to absorb more light, favoring its growth. Due to this change, its leaves became thinner and the characteristic thorns of the original species became smaller.
