Ancestor:Descendants:

The lettushed split from it’s ancestor the windbulb and spread to the Krakow Plains sharing as well to the northern Krakow Chaparral. It still reproduces by both means of root budding and airborne seeds. In the winter it mostly reproduces through root budding. Then in the spring it will start producing the airborne seeds and the seed pods will start growing. Finally at summer time it will shed its leaves after draining most nutrients from them leaving them dark-purple and rather paper-like and dry. It will then also start releasing its seeds that are carried by the wind throughout the plains. Because the seeds lack nutrients they will successfully grow only in organic rich soils and couldn’t survive the snowy ground and that is why they are released in the summer. The lettushed will start growing seed pods in its first summer and will survive up to 6 years. Often at old age its seeds get heavier and in its last summer they will mainly pack around the planet and will grow into new plants using the organic material of the mother planet. Using a mechanism similar to root budding these new plants can attach themselves to old root bulbs and use the nutrients inside them.
