In order to keep from being felled by rasping sandworms, the lobed plent has evolved many tiny spikes protruding from the bottom of its "roots." This makes locomotion very tiresome for them, rendering their old breeding style virtually useless. In response, they have also started dispersing their genetic material by wind, instead of water. This means that they no longer have to live near water to survive. They have also grown even larger, sometimes reach up to two meters in height.
