The mainestalk split from their ancestors. They are the only current variety of sunstalks that live on Maineiac, coming by way of air currents. They found an opportunity in the barren habitats, quickly spreading. They thrive in cold, higher elevations, but can be found in lower altitudes to the north. They lie dormant in the winters, springing to life at the first sign of warmth. Their dark pigment allowing them to absorb as much light as possible. Their blooms only last a few years in any given location, as they deplete the soil and must migrate to more nutrient rich areas while the soil recovers.
