Each stalk-root starts off singular, and then as "melons" form, start producing additional ones per each of said "melons". Developing a slightly reddish hue due to the presence of betalain-like pigments in its flesh, this flora tends to grow sporadically throughout its range, spreading via seeds located within its thick-skinned, melon-like body. Said body contains a good deal of moisture, making them tempting targets for herbivores which aid the seed dispersal as they move about, as well as providing fertilizer for said seeds.
