Growing on the rocky steppes of Vivus Island, the marblemelon is a unique example of a marbleflora evolving traits more akin to those of pioneeroots, in a case of convergent evolution. Each stalk-root starts off singular, and then as "melons" form, start producing additional ones per each of said "melons". Developing a slightly reddish hue due to the presence of betalain-like pigments in its flesh, this flora tends to grow sporadically throughout its range, spreading via seeds located within its thick-skinned, melon-like body. Said body contains a good deal of moisture, making them tempting targets for herbivores which aid the seed dispersal as they move about, as well as providing fertilizer for said seeds. Other than this, they have not changed much from their ancestors.
