The marollon developed the ability to excavate the surfaces of the deep vents, being able to hide great part of its body in these holes. It searches to embed itself near to protohydroia octotherma columns, where it then can capture its food with ease, because these creatures are always near to them. Due to this ability, it can easily hide itself from the snowky in the moments where it searches for its food in deeper waters, entering into the excavated tunnel. To prevent its spores from being eaten by other animals, the spore had developed a fine protective layer covered by a kind of gelatinous material, allowing them to remain adhered to the marollon body until the beginning of their development.
