The megaluminuseven has replaced its ancestor, the luminuseven. It has grown to twice its ancestors size and has twice the amount of chloroplasts. This allows it to photosynthesize even better. Other than that is is much the same as its ancestor. It still orients via phototaxis, and most of the time it remains on the surface of the water. It liberates oxygen bubbles through the central region between its pseudopods. When the water is covered in shade, it uses its flagella to quickly swim in a helix towards an illuminated place.
