The methane barb split from its ancestor, the yanimalius probisucker and doubled in size, it lives in stagnant water around the Flisch Lakes. Its two side proboscises changed into huge multipurpose organelles; They pump water through themselves and collect oxygen from the low oxygen environment, they collect particles of rot floating in the water that the methane barb can consume, their bases perform photosynthesis, and they can metabolise small amounts of methane. The middle proboscis elongated and became a defensive weapon. Two of the flagella developed nutrient rich nubs that, when the methane barb is attacked, will dettach and distract the predator.
