The nitroid split from its ancestor, the teproutine. It has specialized in consuming nitrogen. It has become immobile an absorbs nitrogen out of the ground as well as using its re-adapted flagellum to absorb it out of the air. Their cell walls have also become thicker to protect it from other microbes. They have also developed a new type of reproduction. They asexually produce airborne spores from the tips of their flagellum.
