Ancestor:Descendants:

The ocean gildling split from its ancestor, the mason gildling. The most common of the many species of photosynthesizing microbes that inhabit Mason's sea, they are the result of the adaption of its ancestor to higher salt levels, allowing it to spread far from its original home, living not only in the moon's ocean but also in the estuaries that dot the coastline. It has not changed much from its ancestor, the only notable differences being that its budding tentacles have grown smaller compared to total body size, to allow for more room to photosynthesize.
