The otter carboneater split from its ancestor and moved into the Otter Vents. It has adapted to the higher temperature and can be found all around the hydrothermal vents, though not in the plumes, where both the temperature and pressure would be lethal. It evolved cilia to help it move around and find its food, which it now mostly gets from the organic detritus that falls down from the higher levels of the ocean and dead matter from the Otter Vents itself.
