Ancestor:Descendants:

The percolators genus group has replaced its ancestor, the percolator and relative, the perchlator. They mainly live around geothermal events in the ocean but also been known to live in hot springs as well. Like their ancestors they thrive in extreme heat with no oxygen and absorb chemicals from the mineral rich vents. While mostly immobile they can use their cilia to move to new locations when vents go cold or "run away when it gets too hot. Any waste will be expelled out its hollow digestive canal which make little bubbles or yellow clouds (which contain sulfur). Some species prefer chlorate over perchlorate. When in an ideal environment they can reproduce frequently and are an important base to the vent ecosystems.

Notes: Perchlorate is most famous as an ingredient in rocket fuel.
