The phalangrass is yet another descendant of the pioneeroots that has managed to thrive on Vivus Island. Found primarily within the grasslands, which it has itself come to compose, the phalangrass is easily recognized by its three to six segmented blades which extend above the topsoil to gather sunlight. Beneath them lies a prominent bulb - often buried beneath the soil - in which this flora stores most of its carbohydrates and nutrients. Below this extends a thick root system from which new phalangrass will grow from. These new individuals will continue the process upon maturation, which typically takes less than a week, leading to near exponential growth as long as conditions are favorable.
Outside of the Vivus High Grasslands, phalangrass tend to form more spotty patches, though they are rather prevalent in the Vivus Volcanic region.
