The phantasmagoria crystal split from its ancestor and lives in the Sublyme limestone caves. Phantasmagoria crystals are semi-translucent, although they are mostly a more solid off-white. Their distinct coloration formed by absorbing impurity-ridden calcite from the limestone walls of the cave and using it within their crystals. Having generally less space to grow than its ancestors, the phantasmagoria crystal is smaller and more compact. So in order to continue to get the most out of their food supply they started to produce a chemical to pre-digests their prey before they even absorbs them. That chemical reacts strangely to the microscopic creatures, causing them to glow eerily.
