Ancestor:Descendants:

The polar hexspourus split from its ancestor and moved to the south, where it feeds on the greenhouse testudiatom. They still use their flagella for movement, but the front two flagella have developed chemoreception so they can find their food more easily. Not only can they sense where testudiatom can be found, they also recognize their own species. So if one polar hexpourus has found a large amount of testudiatom, the others will join quickly. This doesn't work over long distances though; they will only notice things as far as about 2-3 times their body size. They have also developed cilia for more efficient movement on the dry sand.
