Ancestor:Descendants:

The pyavent replaced its ancestor, the vent pyamus. Due to abyssal gigantism, it has grown huge. Like its ancestor, it has a symbiotic relationship with protohydroia octherma. Octherma makes a home inside the crystal's pores and its protected by the hard chitin shell. In return octherma gives its excess sulfur to the pyavent, which already has filtered out the harmful volcanic chemicals. The crystal grows as close as it can to the vent and can withstand extreme temperatures and pressures. It is colored an orange-yellow because of the sulfur.
