The ramming infiltrator split from its ancestor, the micro fort , and started consuming it for its synthesized iron. To be able to penetrate its ancestor's cell walls, the ramming infiltrator has a dart-like shape. To move fast enough to be able to use this new shape effectively, the ramming infiltrator evolved three flagella.
