The redmoss riverswarmer split from its ancestor, the river swarmer. It has specialized in eating the river redmoss which grows on the river bottom. Its mouth faces down so it can suck up food. It is red to blend in with the redmoss and green so it can still photosynthesize. They spawn in the spring and live in large swarms combing the bottom of the river for river redmoss.
