The grasssnappers living closest to the oceans began to look for food under the waters when food became scarce near the shore. Eventually, they became just as adept at eating live creatures out of the sea as eating plain eggs. After numerous generations, they completely changed over to being sea-dwelling carnivores, like their ancestors.
