Ancestor:Descendants:

The rolling teproutine split from its ancestor, the teproutine. It has specialized in consuming phosphorus. Two cells have fused together to make it. Due to this odd configuration it now rolls around absorbing phosphorus when it touches surfaces with it present. It has an absorbing organelle with many holes all the way around it. The rest of its body has developed a thicker cell membrane to help protect it from other microbes. They still reproduce via mitosis.
