Ancestor:Descendants:

The rustlicker split from its ancestor the emulsifly. It has migrated to the coastline eating the stickyball relative, the rustballs. They have changed their coloring to a rusty red to blend in with the soil and other rusty colored flora. They are a bit more stout than their ancestors and walk more than they fly. Their claws and suction cupped feet help them grip whatever surface they are eating the rustballs off of. Their digestive systems have also adapted to process the large amount of iron in their diet. They will also clean off any non-aggressive species that happen to have rustballs stuck to them such as the rocky capiri.
