Ancestor:Descendants:

The rusty urchip replaced its ancestor, the guardian urchip. It no longer changes colors and is a rust red color now; this helps it blend into the rusty sand on the western coast of Wright. Its legs have gotten stronger so it can walk away from danger faster, however it usually will stay in one spot filter-feeding all day. If in danger it can tuck its legs into its shell, although its long tube-like beak is still exposed, so it will tend to dig this into the sand with its spiked shell facing upwards. They will mate once a year during the summer solstice so they will have a better chance of fertilizing the eggs in a massive cloud along the coastline.
