Ancestor:Descendants:

The sailback pakahe replaced its ancestor, the leafback pakahe on the beaches of Huggs Island. It adapted to eat the salty beach flora and thus thrived. When it has excess salt it will cry it out, thus looking like its crying. Its many leaves have used into 2 big sails. These collect a lot of sunlight and can help sustain its energy in an environment with limited food. It will use its club tail to protect itself from any predators however its size alone is a deterrent. Which such a large body they constantly need to eat and absorb sunlight. They have poor vision and will charge at anything that threatens it. Males will compete for females by hitting each other in the side with their tail clubs.
