Ancestor:Descendants:

The sand sweeper split from its ancestor, the teproutine. It has specialized in consuming silica. It adapted 2 of its flagella into long sweepers which it uses to collect fine grains of sand. Its cytoskeleton has become harder to protect it from other microbes. It still reproduces via mitosis.
